Resurrection and Reincarnation
63Who is God?.... Whether there is God?.... If there is God than is He more than what we can conceive?..... these have been some of the questions for which I have always been looking for answers.
Here a brief summary of my experiences which would help outline my quest to find the answers.... When I was 3/4 I used to hear strange noises in my dreams... my mom really didn't have any clue and consulted my grand father who was an important member in the catholic church....They got some special blessings/prayers done for me.... I'm really not sure when I stopped having those dreams... maybe I was 6/7 when I stopped having those dreams... right around that time my twin kid bro/sis were born.
When I was about 9 years old on TV there some footage about Indian kings.... right then and there I recognized the noise in my dreams... that of an elephant... I told this to my mom and she didn't believe me...I kept all this to myself for many many years... Meanwhile I was attending bible studies and getting acquainted with the "only" truth about "God".
In my school I have studied about the European dark ages and the quest of spreading Christianity by persecution of those going against church, witch hunting, conquering and annihilating natives was a difficult pill to swallow... we really didn't do much different than what Islam has been doing.... this changed my perspective about looking at other religions differently.... Is there really one God... Does He approve of all this in the name of religion.
In my high school once a Buddhist monk gave a talk about Karma and Reincarnation which I found incredibly fascinating....After the class I walked up to him to know more....They conduct some meditation programs for beginners on Sundays and I was welcome to participate......I participated and felt an intense connection which I had never found in years of bible studies... thus paving the way for even more questions.
I was delivering Pizza, and that day while finishing my last call.... on the right side I saw this interesting building.... I just felt like taking a peek... and it turned out to be an Indian temple .... I was given a warm welcome and was offered a wonderful vegetarian food..... I met an Indian guy and who was very polite.. he gave me his card and I called him later... I asked him some questions... All my life those who believe in Jesus and resurrection always refuted reincarnation.... And he said "God chooses different masters depending on time, place and circumstances".... I felt there was something to it.... I started researching about other experiences.... If God can come back in His own body... then why can't He come back in any other body?...... there have always been masters and prophets from the beginning of time... and now I'm a christian who believes in reincarnation.... fine by now you think I'm crazy.... maybe I'm.
To cut the chase that Indian guy later turned out to be my boss... I have been working at there motel for over 2 years now.... Next year for his brother's daughter's wedding he has invited me to India... Who knows maybe I will go.... and end up having even more questions.....LOL

Looking forward to your after India Hubs. Thanks for becoming a fan.
By coincidence I just read Ghost32's Hub on reincarnation, then I was browsing around the forums, went to check out your profile and found this.
It's great to see an open mind and a fair approach to spirituality after all the prejudice and nastiness in some of the religious forums!
Thank you for sharing your experience Jon. Reincarnation is the oldest belief in many religions. I shared some of my reincarnation memories (spontaneously activated ) in my Hub http://hubpages.com/hub/reincarnation
Some people who commented it, also mentioned their own experience...
I believe you will like it, to know that are more of us remembering the same.
Thumbs up for your article.
You're a funny guy, John. I admire your search for truth. But the intensity you felt in Buddhism can also be felt in Christianity. But I'm not here to argue about faith, especially not to a fellow Scorpio. O yes, I'm a Scorpio. We are hard-headed, and tend to find our own darn way in the world. To hell with everybody else.
Thanks for sharing your experiences they might be useful tips for many
Interesting first hub. I enjoyed reading it.
What a great story about the temple and your boss! That is so cool. I think there is something to admire in most religions, and for sure something interesting in all of them.
I hope you get to go to India. :)
Ditto, what a great story. Sorry I've taken so long to visit your hubs Jon. I read Autobiography of a Yogi and loved the stories in them. I certainly have respect for Sri Yukteswa (I bet I spelled that incorrectly). My own teacher (who is not Indian) spent time in India as a translator for Indian Masters. He also became fluent in Sanskrit because it is the or most ancient tongue, or so it is believed. My teacher has not aligned to Hindu, but has taken much knowledge from it. Well worth a trip. I hope you get there Jon.
I believe anything natural or preconceived by our great grand fathers... the words of the elders are words of wisdom.
You seem like you are on a spiritual quest...there are answers you need and you probably are not going to rest easy until you continue the search. Of course, the answers are not forthcoming...at least not in our lifetime, although you can join a religion and feel you've found something to cling to. The best thing is the journey...the search for why we are here can get convoluted, but the journey is rich beyond belief.
Hi! Jon
Enjoyed your story very much. Hope you find what really you saw in dreams and about those noises. Wish you all the good luck. I live in Mumbai and visit USA also often. If any time you need help and decide to come to India, do contact me. I will be happy to help

India sounds like fun - I am sure you will ask many interesting questions before, during, and after your visit.
I am not very religious but I do like Buddhism. I like how it supports thinking for yourself, using positive communication, as well as mastery of self.
Fun first hub - hope you write more, although your presence in the Forum is also a nice positive force :)
